Newsday highlighted another major addition to The Island F.C.’s growing academy and player development structure with the hiring of former MLS midfielder Felipe Martins.
Martins joins the club as Head of Player Development and coach for the U17 and U19 MLS NEXT Homegrown teams, bringing more than 14 seasons of professional experience in Major League Soccer, including time with the New York Red Bulls, Montreal Impact, D.C. United, and Orlando City SC. The move represents another important step in building a high-level development pathway for players across Long Island.
